In order to pray with boldness and hope, you need to know who you’re praying to.
When you pray what’s in your minds eye? Who are you talking to?
Matthew 6:9–13
[9] Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
[10] Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us this day our daily bread,
[12] and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
[13] And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. (ESV)
Jesus tells us who we’re praying to in the first verse of the Lord’s prayer. You’re talking to a good father who knows your needs and loves to listen to you. This is who we talk to when we pray.
Prayer Focus:
ADORE God for being a good father, having all the qualities of the best kind of fathers
CONFESS your sins and those things in your life that keep you from a good relationship with your good father
THANK God for making a way to have a relationship with Him through Jesus
SUPPLICATE (Beg) God for a deeper, clearer, stronger relationship with Him
SILENTLY Reflect on Matthew 6.9-13
