Staff

Since launching in 2014, CityView’s staff has expanded and changed, always striving to make Jesus known and use what God provides to the fullest. These are the people who live out the joys and trials of seeing the gospel move in Pearland and beyond.

Jason Crandall

Lead Pastor

Jason is passionate about teaching the Gospel so it applies to every day life and to see it multiply into disciples and churches.  This passion led him to start CityView Church in February of 2014, an intentionally multiplying church. At the end of 2021 CityView had been a part of starting 11 churches!

Jason also serves as the Church Plant Lead for the Send Network SBTC. In this role he helps multiply church planting throughout the state of Texas.

Jason holds a M.A.R. from Liberty University, and a M.Div from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In 2016, he earned his Doctorate in Leadership from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.

Jason is married to Allison and they have three boys: Jason Andrew Jr. (Drew), Blaise Owen, and Judson Lewis. The Crandalls also have a needy corgi named Penny.

Jason is the author of Proliferate, A Church Planting Strategy for Everyday Churches. In Proliferate, Jason shares the story of CityView and its church planting efforts.

Jayson Lindley

Creative Arts Director

Jayson grew up in the Houston area, and his heart longs to see people in Houston renewed and restored through the gospel. He did not grow up in church, but came to Christ as a teenager, and committed his life to ministry when he was 16.

Jayson has been blessed to see God use his musical and technical gifts extensively. He toured across the U.S. for over two years as part of a ministry-focused band, and over the course of 150+ shows a year saw many lives deeply touched through their ministry. Jayson was part of the CityView launch team, and has served on staff since CityView’s commissioning. As Creative Arts Director, Jayson seeks to utilize the creative potential of CityView’s many gifted musicians, artists, and technicians to glorify God and to seek and save the lost.

Jayson plays a variety of instruments, his favorite of which is bass, and he stays busy on weekends playing in various bands around town. He is a former member of The Corners and Feintlove, and recently produced and released a record of original hymn arrangements as a part of Shield and Sword. Jayson and his wife Heather are proud parents to their son Cohen, who is unfortunately burdened with looking exactly like his dad, and their daughter Juniper, who brings even more joy to their family. Jayson loves them even more than he loves cooking, board games, and the Dallas Cowboys.

Jaime Rios

student ministry director

Jaime Rios is a native Houstonian who gave his life to Jesus at 14. After seeing the impact that a youth pastor had on the people around him, Jaime accepted a calling into ministry and has seen God use him in the lives of young people ever since.

Jaime began learning the ropes of ministry at First Baptist Pearland, where he met and served with Jason Crandall, and was privileged to serve the FBC students for over 9 years. He graduated with a BS of Christian Leadership from the College of Biblical Studies, and is ecstatic to be a part of CityView’s church family. Jaime’s vision is to see the young believers of CityView grow into a passionate force for the gospel.

Jaime is a fierce defender of all Houston sports franchises, with a brief fandom roadtrip giving his college football allegiance to the Texas Longhorns. He is passionate about good worship music, running, and out-dressing the rest of the staff. He loves sharing his life with his wife Megan, twin daughters Maisy and Payton, and his son Jacob.

Holly Brashier

CHILDREN’S Ministry DIRECTOR

Holly Brashier has worked in children’s ministry for 24 years, but the wisdom gained doesn’t appear to have dulled her excitement for the job. You’ll find her back in CVC Kids most Sundays having at least as much fun as any of the actual kids, and that enthusiasm connects her to young people in a unique way.

Born and raised here in Pearland (staff’s only native Pear!), Holly got her start in Children’s Ministry when, as a young mother, she saw a need in her own church. Since then, God has kept sharpening her talents and giving her opportunities to serve, including as the Director for the Camp Overflow preteen summer camp, a responsibility she’s embraced for 15 years. Holly is the staff’s go-getter, never missing an opportunity to brainstorm or to try something new.

She loves the outdoors, and dreams of her future RV letting her hike as much as she wants with Kevin, her husband of 30 years. When asked about the names of her pets, she just told us the names of her kids- Kenzie, Morgan, Banks, and Ruby. We’ll let the kids decide how to feel about that one.

Shanna Tate

Women’s Ministry & Hospitality Director

Shanna has served in various areas of ministry over the past 23 years, which includes teaching Preschool, directing Preschool Ministries, serving in Youth leadership, and assisting Christian School Administrators.

She has a passion for serving the local church and community in tangible ways, whether it be coordinating Church lunches, organizing Hospitality teams, or creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and walking her dog, Cooper. She has been married to her husband Daniel for 17 years despite the fact that he is a Cowboys fan and she is a Saints fan. They have 3 children, Abigail, Austin, and Sawyer.

Amber Reynolds

Preschool Director

Amber grew up in SW Houston in a wonderful family that loves and talks about Jesus, and serving in the church has always been part of her life. Since she was young, she has enjoyed working in Preschool and Children's Ministry especially. In fact, Amber has known since she was only eight that she wanted to be a teacher, so she pursued a degree in Education at Baylor University, earning certifications for working in Early Childhood and Gifted & Talented populations. Amber taught in Clear Creek ISD and later at the GT Academy in Pearland ISD.

These days, though, you can find Amber at the park in the mud rather than in a traditional classroom setting. She trained to be a Tinkergarten leader in 2019 and now champions time for free play and time in nature for growing kids! She absolutely loves building joyful community with families across Houston through this special program, and now one of her passions is helping families get outside together. She also serves Pearland on the Library Board.

She attends CityView with her husband and three little ones and loves that God has made this way for her to use her skills to serve her church family. Amber loves wildflowers, an iced Miel from Pearland Coffee Roasters, grammar, and orcas.
