40 Days of Hope - Day 12

One of the most terrifying and destructive aspects of sin is its ability not only to blind us to our need for Christ, but to blind us to our blindness.

The Apostle Paul was blinded physically to show and illustrate his spiritual blindness.

We are all blind apart from Christ’s work. Sin’s terrible byproduct is to keep us blinded. The Enemy can’t take us out of the Father’s hand once we’re saved, but we can be made ineffective Christians by not recognizing sin in our lives.

Jesus opens our eyes to our sin initially in salvation and the Holy Spirit continues to expose it in your life the longer you walk with him. Pray that the Spirit continues to open your eyes to your own sin.

Prayer Focus:

ADORE God for his plan of salvation
CONFESS that you often neglect your own sin
THANK God for the opening your eyes to the sin in your life
SUPPLICATION (Beg) God to reveal to you further sin in your life
SILENTLY Reflect on Psalm 139
