The Christian celebration of Advent is a season of preparation and anticipation leading up to Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The word “Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming” or “arrival.” Download the advent guide here.

Each week has a specific focus.

  • Hope (Week 1): Reflecting on the hope of Christ’s coming, both in His birth and His promised return.

  • Peace (Week 2): Emphasizing the peace Christ brings into the world.

  • Joy (Week 3): Often marked by a pink candle, this week focuses on rejoicing in God’s faithfulness.

  • Love (Week 4): Celebrating the love of God shown through Jesus.

This year we are going to focus on a small portion of Luke 1 called Mary’s Magnificat. It is found in Luke 1.46-55. We’ve put together this prayer guide to help you focus on the season: Advent Guide
