WHY?

Our mission trip to Costa Rica is rooted in our desire to love Jesus, live like Jesus, and lead others to Him.

We aim to embrace God’s calling to be His hands and feet, allowing our service to remind us of the purpose He has given us. Through this journey, we seek to grow in our love for Jesus and others, while also exploring the potential for ministry partnerships that align with our mission.

Where?

Our mission will be in Nosara, a village on the Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.

They have a population of over 10,000. We will be in a small beach tourist area, popular for its waves and yoga. Most people work in commercial tourism but have to travel for work. People who live in town have a high poverty rate; there are no paved roads. We will be going during the “dry” season, but it is located in the rainforest. We will fly into Liberia, Costa Rica

Who?

We are going to serve a local church named Casa Vida Nosara. They are a branch of a local church in the area.

They build Mercy Homes for families who are in the poverty line that have to apply for a home and be involved in the local church. Families are invited to come on the trip. Mercy Homes is a ministry that partners with Casa Vida to build homes. The homes that are built are prepackaged homes that has a lead and a few other volunteers. They have all the tools and supplies we need to build the home. We will stay in a motel with an area to cook some of our meals.

When?

This mission will happen during the summer of 2025. The dates are July 9th through July 16th.

We suggest that members and their families who are planning to join us on the mission this year consider not attending the Student Summer Camp, so that families can focus on their mission experiences.

Cost?

The estimated cost for this mission is around $1,700 per person, and CityView will host some fundraisers throughout the year for us to participate in that will bring in funds to lower our total cost.

This cost is completely comprehensive for the trip, as it includes the cost for the flight, hotel, food, and car rental. The flight will be through Southwest, and the flight schedule for the trip will be announced as soon as it is released.
